Eyelash Extension FAQ
What are eyelash extensions and how are they applied?
Eyelash extensions are a synthetic, pre-curled eyelash that is individually applied to your natural eyelash. The application process can take anywhere from an hour to two hours, depending upon the type of look you want.
How long will they last?
Touch-ups or "fills" are needed every three to four weeks for a full, beautiful look. However, with proper care your extensions can last up to six weeks.
Do I need mascara?
The use of black adhesive with each extension mimics the look of mascara, so mascara is not necessary. Mascara can be applied in between your touch-up appointments for a more blended look. Also, the pre-curled extensions give the appearance of voluminous lashes without any mascara.
How many extensions are applied?
The number of extensions applied to your natural lashes depends on the amount of lashes you currently have. A full set of lashes is considered 40-60 extensions per eye. You may have more extensions applied if time allows.
Will this cause me to lose my natural lashes?
During the natural shedding process, you will lose the extension, but a new lash will grow in its place. If you rub or pull on your extensions, your extensions may fall out. Avoid repeated actions that can put stress on or strain your lashes.
Does the application process hurt?
No. Your eyes are closed during the process. In fact, many clients find it very relaxing and drift off to sleep.
How do I care for my lashes?
Do not expose your lashes to water for the first 24 hours. Once the adhesive cures, they are resistant to water. Products containing glycols, organic solvents, and urea can break down the bonding of the adhesive and should be avoided.
How much do they cost?
The price for touch-ups to a full set can vary between $35-$150, depending upon the amount of time scheduled.
